In this edition of the Going Digital Awards, 36 finalist projects were shortlisted from more than 300 submissions by 180 organisations from 47 countries.
Subsequently, several panels of independent juries have determined the winners in each of the 12 categories. In this scenario, it is an honour that a third of the finalist projects featured the work of Zigurat professors and Alumni. One even won the top prize in the "Bridges and tunnels" category for the project IH35 Nex Central Station in San Antonio (United States), presented by the Alumni Marta Raya and her colleague Carlos F. González, from Ferrovial.
Zigurat professors Clare Kovacs and Wagner Carvalho, as well as the Alumni Dionnald Beh, were behind three finalist projects in the categories of "Water and Wastewater", "Surveying and Monitoring", and "Rail and Transit", respectively. Specifically, the projects presented not only stood out for their innovation and quality but also their international scope: the project in which Kovacs participated was that of the company MWH Treatment in Burnley (United Kingdom); that of Carvalho, of AEGEA, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and, finally, that of Beh, of Oriental Consultants Global and Reveron Consulting, in Manila (Philippines)
