ZIGURAT Institute of Technology has recruited Vicki Reynolds, a global expert in BIM and Digital Construction, as the new Academic Director of the Master's in Global BIM Management. ZIGURAT pioneered training in this discipline not only in Spain but also globally. With Reynolds’ appointment, the master’s degree consolidates its position as an international benchmark, enhances its practical approach, and remains at the forefront of innovation.
The new Programme Director, currently Chief Technology Officer at Catalyst, brings extensive experience in the digitalisation and transformation of the construction industry.
As a BIM consultant and former ambassador of the Nima (UK BIM Alliance), Reynolds has worked with a wide range of stakeholders in the sector, promoting quality, safety, and efficiency through digitalisation. She has also dedicated part of her career to encouraging the participation of women in the construction industry and in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), particularly at younger ages.
According to Pau Farré, CEO of ZIGURAT Institute of Technology, “Vicki Reynolds brings experience, innovative vision, and a passion for the advancement of digitalisation in construction. Her appointment elevates our Master in BIM Management to an outstanding level of excellence.”
“What excites me about this programme is how open both faculty and students are to change and learning. The construction sector is constantly evolving, and the master’s degree adapts to this changing environment,” says Reynolds.
“As a distinguishing feature of ZIGURAT, the programme is structured in such a way that it fosters discussions and debates not covered in other academic offerings, within an environment that fully mirrors the reality of the construction world,” adds Farré.
In this respect, Reynolds underscores the importance of cultural change in the sector to effectively embrace digital tools. “In this master’s programme, students must collaborate and build relationships under high-pressure conditions to create a digital model, which is exactly how it works in real project environments,” she notes.
Reynolds’ appointment is further proof of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. Farré emphasises, “Our ambition is to remain at the forefront of digital innovation in architecture, engineering, and construction, preparing professionals who can lead teams and manage projects using the most advanced technologies.”
The Master in BIM Management at ZIGURAT has been recognised as the best in its field by the training programme ranking of the newspaper El Mundo and by Financial Magazine.
The master’s first edition took place in 2014, making ZIGURAT the first training institution worldwide to offer an online BIM master’s programme. After more than a decade of pioneering, innovating, and maintaining a cutting-edge approach to this methodology, the programme now offers a global English edition for professionals worldwide — the Master in Global BIM Management now under Reynolds’ leadership — as well as a Portuguese edition.
The Master in Global BIM Management at ZIGURAT Institute of Technology is designed to train professionals capable of leading teams and managing entire projects using the most advanced technologies, tools, and software in the industry.
The programme features a teaching staff of renowned professionals and specialised mentors who guide students. From the very first modules, participants work on their Final Master’s Project (TFM), focusing on implementing a real project with an Open BIM approach.
Through collaboration in an interdisciplinary and international team, students gain the skills to manage all aspects of a project, including costs, safety, scheduling, sustainability, clash detection, and efficient facility management, addressing the key needs of architects, engineers, owners, and builders.
