ZIGURAT has once again made headlines for its commitment to innovation by launching the world’s first global online Master's in AI for Architecture & Construction. Since its inception, this pioneering initiative has generated significant international media impact and captured the attention of press outlets in various countries.
The Master's in Artificial Intelligence for Architecture & Construction, designed to integrate the latest AI technologies into the industry, has quickly established itself as a benchmark in the industry. Experts and industry leaders underscore its potential to transform the way current market challenges are addressed by combining cutting-edge technology with design in an accessible, high-quality training programme.
The launch news has been disseminated across multiple countries, evidencing the project’s global reach. Under the title “Dispatches from Barcelona: Lilian Ho”, the British magazine Architecture Today published an interview with Lilian Ho, the Director of the Master's in Artificial Intelligence for Architecture & Construction and a recognised AI & Digital Leader in the AECO sector. In the interview, Lilian highlights the pioneering nature of the programme – the first of its kind worldwide focused on integrating artificial intelligence into the sector.
The Master's, which aims to revolutionise design, planning, and project management, is aimed at architects, engineers, and construction professionals seeking to lead the digital transformation. To this end, it combines practical training with networking opportunities in a flexible online format.
In addition to this interview, the launch of ZIGURAT’s Master's has been featured prominently in other international media outlets. Some of these publications include, among others:
Other international media outlets covering the story include Architectsdatafile, netMAGmedia Ltd, Trending Now Digital Construction, Buildingconstructiondesign, FM Business Daily, and OInstalador.
Specialised media have unanimously emphasised the need for professional training in the new technologies that are already transforming the sector. The fusion of artificial intelligence with architectural design and construction techniques is emerging as a catalyst for change within the industry. In this context, the Master's in AI for Architecture and Construction not only provides innovative training but also opens new perspectives for professionals aiming to lead the digital transformation in their fields.
The programme, delivered through a blended online format, lasts one academic year and is taught in three languages (Spanish, English, and Portuguese). It is divided into four modules covering everything from the fundamentals of AI and programming to its application in BIM, generative design, project management, and smart cities. In addition, it delves into tools such as generative machine learning and natural language processing applied to architectural processes.
As Fernando Iglesias, Director of the Spanish edition of the Máster en IA para Arquitectura y Construcción, asserts, “AI is going to dramatically improve productivity,” adding, “AI will not replace us, but it will help us speed up decision-making, streamline repetitive tasks, refine the design process, improve the accuracy of cost estimates, and produce better drawings and graphic representations.” In other words, technology helps automate tasks and reduce effort, enabling professionals to dedicate more time to activities that, as humans, deliver substantial value – such as analysis, judgement, and personal creativity.
