Alan Lerma is a civil engineer graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, specializing in steel structures. He began his career at ESJ Steel Joist, where he utilized Tekla Structures to model large-scale BIM projects such as the Buenavista del Cobre mine and the KIA Motors factory in Monterrey.
In 2015, he joined Trimble as a BIM specialist. In this role, he implements and provides consultancy on the use of Tekla Structures, in addition to delivering lectures at prominent events like TEDx, World of Concrete, and BIM Forum Chile. His expertise has also led him to collaborate as a professor in the Master's in BIM Management at ZIGURAT and the BIM Diploma at UNAM.
In addition to his academic background, Alan holds relevant certifications, such as the Diploma in Construction Project Management from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Diploma in Design and Calculation of Steel Structures from the Mexican Institute of Steel Construction. His professional trajectory is marked by significant contributions to the implementation of BIM technologies, reflecting his commitment to innovation and excellence in civil engineering.
