Diego Besada is an engineer with over 20 years of experience in the construction sector, specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and energy efficiency in buildings. He graduated as an engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and holds two master’s degrees from ZIGURAT: one in Building Installations and another as a BIM Manager.
Throughout his career, he has combined his work as an independent consultant with teaching specialized training programs. At ZIGURAT, he serves as the director of the International Master’s in BIM Calculation and MEP Modeling and co-directs the International Master’s in HVAC with Energy Efficiency. He has also taught MEP modeling and BIM/MEP interoperability in ZIGURAT’s International Master’s in BIM Management.
His expertise ranges from MEP consulting to implementing energy efficiency solutions in buildings, applying BIM methodologies to optimize project design and management. His focus on integrating advanced technologies and his commitment to training new professionals make him a leading figure in the field of installations engineering and energy efficiency.
