Dion Moult is a professional with over 15 years of experience in software development, architecture, and the construction industry. He is recognized as the lead developer of the BlenderBIM add-on, an open-source tool that integrates BIM methodology into Blender, enabling native editing of IFC files.
Throughout his career, Dion has made significant contributions to various open-source projects. His involvement includes the Gentoo Linux distribution, the KDE project for desktop environments, Blender for 3D content creation, FreeCAD for parametric solid modeling, Radiance for light simulation, OpenStreetMap and OpenStreetCam for geographic information systems and computer vision datasets, as well as IfcOpenShell for BIM tools and open data in the built environment.
In addition to his work in software development, Dion has shared his knowledge as an educator. He has taught in postgraduate programs on parametric design at ZIGURAT, where he serves as a professor.
