Herman Swanepoel is the CIO at OG Bison, a South African company with more than 120 years’ experience in creating wood-based panel products.
Before that he worked at Bestmed, the largest self-administered open medical scheme in South Africa.
He has over 25 years of IT experience within various industries, working for local and global organizations. He fulfils senior technology roles to lead the march to the new Digital Economy. As an innovative business thinker, he mixes Business, Technology, and Leadership skills to assist organizations in delivering strategic business processes, technology solutions, and digital business innovation.
Herman’s focus has always been to transform organizations through the strategic use of technology and innovation for sustainable business and growth. He obtained several IT certifications, formal IT qualifications alongside an MBA through the Edinburgh Business School, a Global MBA in Digital Technology through ZIGURAT Global Institute of Technology as well as completed a Strategic Innovation program through Oxford University.
He has won the Visionary CIO award for 2021.
