Van Miguel Maita is a civil engineer with extensive experience in supervising engineering projects and providing BIM consultancy for the NGO Mano a Mano International. He specializes in the construction and design of road and hydraulic projects and holds professional certification in Civil 3D, as well as being an Autodesk-authorized instructor for civil infrastructure projects. As a member of the Autodesk Expert Elite team and Beta Tester for Civil 3D and InfraWorks, Van Miguel has made significant contributions to the development and improvement of these tools.
Currently, Van Miguel is the director of BIMCIVIL, a center dedicated to researching, developing, and implementing BIM workflows for civil infrastructure. His leadership in this field has led him to speak at Autodesk University, sharing his expertise and knowledge with the professional community. In recognition of his outstanding work, he received the Autodesk “Outstanding Contributions” award in 2021 for being a top leader in civil infrastructure solutions in Spanish.
In addition to his role at BIMCIVIL, Van Miguel has participated in various infrastructure projects, applying BIM methodologies to optimize processes and outcomes. His commitment to innovation and excellence in infrastructure design and construction positions him as a leader in the field, driving the adoption of advanced technologies in civil engineering.
