Xavier Aguiló i Aran is the International Managing Director of SOCOTEC. He studied Industrial Engineering in Spain, specializing in Structural Engineering, and earned his degree in 1999 while working at BAC Barcelona as a structural consultant. He was appointed Associate at BAC (now SOCOTEC Spain) in 2001 and became the Director in charge of the Madrid office in 2007. In 2018, he was named UK Manager.
In addition to his professional career, Xavier teaches at several academic institutions, including the Architectural Association, Central Saint Martins, Royal College of Art, and ZIGURAT Global Institute of Technology.
Throughout his career, Xavier has demonstrated a deep commitment to the integration of technology and architecture, participating in projects that blend innovation and sustainable design. His focus on circular construction and his involvement in higher education reflect his dedication to the evolution of structural engineering and its positive impact on the built environment.
