The second issue of Mosaic, ZIGURAT's quarterly publication, brings together a diverse collection of testimonials and insights from the Alumni community, esteemed faculty members, and leading voices from the engineering and construction (E&C) industry. Rich with content that reflects the values and achievements of the ZIGURAT network, this spring edition continues the celebration of ZIGURAT’s 20th anniversary—a milestone that highlights two decades of innovation, education, and global impact.
This January marked the launch of Mosaic, ZIGURAT’s first-ever Alumni magazine. Created in honor of the institution’s 20th anniversary, the magazine serves as a platform to showcase the exceptional contributions and achievements of ZIGURAT’s Alumni community. Its mission is simple yet powerful: to make visible all that our Alumni have built, are building, and have the potential to create.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the second issue delivers even more varied and inspiring content, spanning multiple disciplines and regions. This issue celebrates standout final master’s projects that not only exceeded academic expectations but also left professors thoroughly impressed. It features insightful interviews with Alumni, who share how their ZIGURAT journey has profoundly influenced their professional growth and shaped their ongoing contributions to the industry.
The highlight of this issue lies in the incredible stories of distinguished Alumni from ZIGURAT’s diverse training programs. Among them is João Pereira, a graduate of the Máster en BIM Management and an incoming participant in the Master’s in Global Smart City Management. João shares his multifaceted journey, which includes a portfolio of professional projects as well as personal ventures, such as his visionary concepts for utopian infrastructures that push the boundaries of traditional architecture and urban planning.
In the field of MEP Engineering, we feature Vanesa Martínez, alumna of the Máster en Climatización (HVAC) con Eficiencia Energética. Vanesa provides a unique perspective on her work, delving into the motivations and inspirations that have guided her in pursuing energy-efficient solutions in HVAC systems.
Meanwhile, the ZIGURAT Heroes team from the Master's in Global BIM Management offers a glimpse into their exceptional final Master’s project—a collaborative effort that has propelled them to BIM stardom and serves as a testament to the program’s emphasis on practical, cutting-edge applications.
With these stories and more, this second issue of Mosaic captures the essence of what makes ZIGURAT’s community so exceptional—its dedication to pushing boundaries, embracing innovation, and leaving a meaningful mark on the industry.
